As the darkness of the winter fades away and yields to spring
We lift up our our eyes and look to the Light
The struggles that we face we bring before You as we sing
To Jesus our Lord, the Saviour of the world
God’s Son, here as one of us
Who knows what it’s like to live in the darkness of winter

You were tempted in the wilderness with nothing to sustain
Dependant on God for all of Your needs
The power of the word of God to keep the dark at bay
Our Lord Jesus Christ, the Saviour of the world
Alone, in the wilderness
You know what it’s like to live in the darkness of winter

When the darkness had surrounded You before You breathed Your last
Forsaken by God, weighed down by our sin
Betrayed, and thrice denied yet still forgiving as You died
Yes You are the Christ, the Saviour of the world
Your death, brings us life and hope
