Blessed to be a Blessing

Created in Your image,
For relationship with You;
And when we walk with You, Lord,
And reflect your grace and truth;
It’s then that you can bless us
And affirm that we belong
In Your great, historic plan
First revealed to Abraham
To use your faithful people
As a blessing for the world.

But though we want to serve You,
It’s not always how we live;
We do what we think best, Lord,
And ignore the lead you give;
It’s then that we don’t bless them
In the way that you intend;
Our relationship is strained
And we hinder and delay
Your plan to use your people
As a blessing for the world.
