Verse

{title: Jesus Wept}
Jesus wept, His borning cry
Crossed a stable, split the sky
In to a world so cold and wild
He entered as a helpless child
No wonder then, that Jesus wept
Jesus wept for Je- rusalem
Loved it as a mother hen
But it refused his sheltering care
And killed the prophets, spurned their prayers
No wonder then, that Jesus wept
Weeping may last for the nighttime
But joy comes with the dawn
Jesus wept be- fore the tomb
Lazarus had died too soon
And Mary, Martha, friends so strong
Im- plied he waited far too long
No wonder then,that Jesus wept
Jesus wept, His final cry
Tore the shroud and split the sky
A soldier stood, by passion awed
De- clared this was the Son of God
With wonder then, we re- member when
Jesus wept
Weeping may last for the nighttime
But joy comes with the dawn
Weeping may last for the nighttime
But joy comes with the dawn
