Rock of Ages Rehewn
Verse 1
Rock of safety, ancient form,
Be my shelter in the storm
From the guilt and fears that drown
Welling up and raining down.
Nothing I could ever do
Can remove my sin from view.
Yet You wash away all trace
In Your waterfalls of grace.
Verse 2
Rock of purpose, be my guide,
Underpinning every stride.
Overshadowed all the way:
My protector, day by day.
Rock eternal, on and on
When my eyes and breath are gone
Greater faith and lesser sight
My security at night
Chorus
Jesus is the rock I cling to
He is always there
Though the storms of life were raging
He has answered every prayer
Verse 3
Rock of mercy, vast and high,
Listen to a sinner’s cry
Hope is calling, arms are wide
Hide me in the Crucified.
When my spirit flies alone,
When it stands before your throne
Rock of Ages, this I pray,
Be my Saviour on that day!
