Just a lonely shepherd, watching
o’er his flocks by night
Gazes and a- mazes at the
star that shines so bright
Surely it’s a sign of something great to come
Could be the coming of the holy one?
Then streaming down from heaven
there suddenly ap- peared
A host of angels, singing praises
ringing in his ears
All glory be to God in heaven
and on earth be peace to all
For born to you in Bethlehem
in a lonely cattle stall
A Saviour who will lead you from those
paths of sin so worn
Tell the whole nation

So the lonely shepherds wandered
through the tiny town
Searching in the streets until the
blessed babe was found
In a lowly stable and in a manger laid
Such a humble shelter for the holy babe
He grew to be our Saviour
a man with love to share
He lived and died to change the lives of
people every- where
And ever since he’s touched my life
I haven’t been the same
My world’s a new cre- ation and my

The Saviour now has led me from those
