A complete remake of my song based on Psalm 46. It is written in a Contemporary Christian/Christian Rock/80's synth style. Like many Psalms, it contains elements of questioning, challenge and finally, faith. The calm choruses contrast with the wordy, stream-of-thought verses, providing a faithful assurance in our times of doubt and confusion. Note that this recording is in the key of F# while the printed music is in the key of F.

"A Time For Everything" was written in 2024 during the Resound Worship 12 Song Challenge Month where we were encouraged to write "a song for someone" - A song which someone in my church congregation could sing with real relevance, but where it could also be sung by everyone. At the time, we has a family whose teenage daughter was suffering from unexplained seizures and swelling on the brain. She was in the intensive care ward of the specialist hospital, with the doctors a bit baffled by the cause and the necessary treatments. Her parents testified about how they were hanging on to faith through the circumstances, despite there not being a clear end in sight. This song was written for them to sing. Thankfully she's on the mend now and back at school, after great medical care and a bit of a miraculous recovery. It's my hope that this is a song you can sing, either because you're going through troubled times, or because you're standing alongside someone who is.
THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT - "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such there is no law." Galatians 5: 22-23 Many years ago when I was trying to memorize this passage I noticed that the last six fruits of the Spirit began with the letters P, K, G, F, G and S. From those letters I created the memory aid, "PacKaGe of FiGS" and it has worked for me every since! Recently I thought of putting that memory aid into a little song, and this is the result!
This is my first song posting and it is a collaboration with Terry Young as a co-write and friends form the Resound 12 Song Challenge as "Ebberstonia" who helped to perform the song. The song was written out of the Resound 12 Song Challenge as a "remake" of the old Rock of Ages. Whilst distinctly different it nods to the original in shape, structure and sentiment.
