"God is good, His love endures forever" in Hebrew is the shortest song in the bible. In 2 Chronicles when Solomon dedicated the temple to God, many musicians in the band played a fanfare on trumpets & other instruments, and as the crowd sang these words the temple was filled like a cloud with the glory of God. Later in the book the song is used again after Jehoshaphat was told "You will not have to fight this battle ... Do not be afraid ... The Lord will be with you."

This song was written out of a desire to honour God with our praise and worship but, not in a big loud way, which is unusual for me because I love songs that are big and loud and have a driving beat, but in a more reverent and thoughtful way. I tried to be as careful and thoughtful with the lyrics as I could whilst also maintaining a rhyming scheme and a singable melody.
This song is a call to worship which reminds us that though we come from diverse circumstances, we join together to worship as the family of God. The song is designed to make room for us to name our individual circumstances in extemporary prayer, and then call on God together with the refrain. Sing the refrain to start. The leader then invites people to pray extemporary prayers that begin "Lord, I come…" to name their circumstances. The whole group joins to repeat the refrain after each set of prayers.
