This is my first song, and the first song posted by anyone, for the current 2025-2026 edition of the 12 Song Challenge. The theme is generosity, and where else could we look than Jesus for giving his all.
A song to ignite memories of child-like excitement about Christmas and transform them into awe-filled wonder, focusing on the transforming work of Christ that begun with his earthly birth.
A song about how God talks to us. If you are envious of people who relate stories of how God has spoken to them, join the club. That type of thing can be both encouraging and discouraging prompting us to think “why doesn’t God talk to me like that?” Perhaps God does and we just don’t recognise the voice.
Perhaps we are expecting thunderclaps and flashing light bulbs? Hmm …... I know God speaks to me but I often don’t realise it until some time afterwards when I have an “Oh, yeah” moment and often I don’t realise it at all.
The reality is that the Holy Spirit is whispering to us all the time “help that person, share your bread, your friend needs a hug etc etc”. And “shock, horror” the Spirit whispers to everyone, not just Christians. But the biggest revelation to me was that God speaks to us all the time through every part of his creation.
Listen to your own heartbeat and there is a whisper of God. “Every breath we take, every single heartbeat, every smile in the street” is a whisper of God’s voice. Wow!!!!!

This song is a passionate prayer for God to light a fire in me that will burn brighter and brighter for his name. It's about giving everything to God and allowing the Holy Spirit to come and burn away anything that isn't of God.

This is a song about longing for and experiencing the Holy Spirit but knowing the truth that He lives inside us.
John 7 v 37-39 "On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’"
Jesus promised that streams of Living Water would flow from within us - Living Water flow!!

This song works really well with just guitar and vocal, particularly with the refrain "Living Water Flow".
This song was written as part of a challenge to put unedited scripture to music. I chose John 1: 1-5 and a blues-rock feel.
This song compares the confusion, blindness, and despair of a life without Jesus to the belief and hope that come from accepting Him.
