A song exploring and expressing awe and wonder at the creation and salvation of our incredible God. It is the first song I recorded featuring vocals by Chloe Rose, an amazing songwriter and musician from the Resound Worship 12 Song Challenge group.
Resound Worship, Marcus Pagnam
I was reflecting on the Doxecology project and also thinking about the word ‘Resound’ - and the basic song came pretty quickly while I was driving on a long journey. It started off as my attempt to write a modern ‘How great Thou art’ with all of creation singing praise to the God who brings salvation and restoration to all of creation. However it quickly became clear that the subject matter was too big for this song, so after numerous Resound writing sessions I finally came to the conclusion it needed to be more to the point - that then released me to focus on the song as a call to worship. The verses went through many lyrical re-writes and the bridge was added at some point, using Revelation 4 which I hope gives a sense of call to eternal, everlasting praise.

This song is based primarily on Psalm 8 and might be used as an offertory song in worship or when there a focus on God's creation. I would describe the style as Contemporary Christian with a Celtic influence, although there's an 80's vibe in there somewhere! This song was written as a part of Resound Worship's 12 Song Challenge.
A different spin on WWJD with a touch of Zydeco and a Newfoundland ugly stick thrown in for good measure! The newest version of this fun song for the younger crowd with an environmental message as well!

Resound Worship, Joel Payne
During the last 12 months I've run songwriting workshops on both sides of the globe. In each workshop we try to model song-critiquing and collaboration, and I always take along something I'm working on. This is the song I've shared with several groups this past year. Their collective thoughts, observations and constructive suggestions have all contributed to this finished song. It's been hard work, trying to stick closely to essence of the psalm while keeping a simple structure and rhyme scheme, and it's taken many weeks and many miles to get there. Thank you to everyone who's played a part! I hope it will be prove a lively, joyful and humble call to worship our great creator God.
