I often travel by train from Leeds to London for work and the train journey can be a fertile place for songwriting inspiration. This is one example. The song is really about how God sees us, through the light of His glory. That’s a very different picture to the one we most probably have of ourselves. God sees us as we can be, a perfect creation …. Let that sink in! Once we start seeing ourselves as God sees us it is much easier to be that person and become the embodiment of His Kingdom, sharing His amazing unconditional love and praising Him through everything we do. To be able to love others as God loves us it helps if we can first love ourselves in the way God does.
Written for the ‘Refugee’ month challenge for the Resound Worship 12 Song Challenge, June 2023. The wonderful Sue Crossman from Hopestream Worship provided vocals. This song reminds us that we have all been people in need, and if we follow Jesus’ example we will treat those we see in need as he did. Note: The chords and sheet music are in the original key of B minor, but the recording with Sue is in G# minor.

Inspired by the words of John 10:10, this song explores aspects of the full life available to us through Jesus. Started at New Wine in 2008, it took several revisions at Resound events to arrive at the final version, performed at the first ‘Worship Songwriting Retreat WSR15’ at Wyedale Hall in June 2015.

Written for the Resound Worship 12 Song Challenge in January 2024, this is a song which aims to make everyone feel welcome and part of a family of faith, as well as declare why we have gathered. The chords in the chord chart have been simplified, the recording has a few “crunchy” chords in based around a descending bassline.
