A song based on Acts 4, where Peter says the words "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved." The whole song is written around salvation being found in Jesus alone.
I started writing it as part of the 12 Song Challenge in 2024, where the theme was "Acts songs", i.e. a song based on a part of the book of Acts.
The recording was created (mostly) live, with only the lead guitar part being recorded separately.
Based on words someone said when explaining Isaiah 61. There is nothing that God considers garbage in our life or throws away. He fulfills His plans with us, makes beautiful things out of brokenness. A song to express hope in difficult situations and to praise God no matter what.
The resurrection in simple language based on the account of John's gospel - an all-age worship song for churches. Vocals by Sue Crossman of Hopestream Worship.
This song is about the prodigal son and how the fathers arms is our home. I wrote this when wrestling with the idea of home as I left London where I felt so at home and been wrestling with the idea of what home looks like for me. Reading the passage in Luke 15:11-32, I realised my home isn't in a building, an area or a person, it's in the Fathers arms.
This simple song serves an opportunity to realign ourselves with God's gracious rescue. Our daily experience of destructive decisions is a story we all find ourselves in. But it is only a passing page in The Story of our Father's extravagant grace. Losing our place in his story of grace will always lead us deeper into death at the hands of the religion we crave to make ourselves okay - and religion never changed anyone's heart for the better!
The Story that Jesus has invited us into is one of grace, not religion; it transforms the shameful burden of a servant into the joyful song of a child. It's time for us to remember our new existence is one of nothing but grace.
This was written for a "Hero Songs" Challenge as part of the 2024 12 Song Challenge. My selected hero this time was Don Francisco for his great storytelling style of writing.
