The Olympic motto is "Citius, altius, fortius, communiter" which translated into English is "Faster, higher stronger, together". We come together at the Olympics to celebrate individual achievement, but in community. Those achievements mean nothing without community and the individual needs the help of community to achieve their potential. This is very much the same model of the church which should be a loving community that enables each individual to achieve their full potential. So an Olympic song about achieving together. After all the Trinity is the ultimate community.

"The Gathering" was written as a response to a National Level Christian Youth Camp in 2023 called "Xtreme Camp" in Northern Thailand. Where we saw over 2000 young people from almost every province in Thailand come together to worship, seek and pray for Revival for our nation. Since then, there has been more such gatherings that have continued to impact lives in incredibles ways and therefore, our nation of Thailand.

A sporting analogy song which echoes the words of 1 Tim 4:8, what training for Godliness is of more value that physical training, even though the latter has some value. Like the apostle Paul, we seek to run the race before us with endurance. Written as part of the 2024 Resound Worship 12 Song Challenge under the theme “Olympic songs”
A song for churches or organizations committing to an initiative to improve or expand their ministry, committing their plans to the Lord, following His leading and opening their hearts to change. Psalm 37:5; Proverbs 16:3 (Image credit: image credit: Will Scullin "Blueprint" CC 2009 https://flic.kr/p/6K9jb8)
This was a 12 song challenge to write a song based on one of the Psalms. I decided to start at the beginning of the book of Psalms and choose the first one that seemed to appeal to me and which I hadn't used before. I settled for Psalm 15 which clearly defines what a believer should be like and it beautifully mirrors what Jesus taught which is rather prescient to current events in the evangelical church.

"We are one body" was written in 2020 during the first lockdown. Our church, St Paul's and St Stephen's, Newport, needed a song to encourage each other at a time when two congregations had recently merged together. This song has continued to build us up since then! Inspired by the words of John 10:10, this song explores aspects of the full life available to us through Jesus. Started at New Wine in 2008, it took several revisions at Resound events to arrive at the final version, performed at the first ‘Worship Songwriting Retreat WSR15’ at Wyedale Hall in June 2015.
