"A Time For Everything" was written in 2024 during the Resound Worship 12 Song Challenge Month where we were encouraged to write "a song for someone" - A song which someone in my church congregation could sing with real relevance, but where it could also be sung by everyone. At the time, we has a family whose teenage daughter was suffering from unexplained seizures and swelling on the brain. She was in the intensive care ward of the specialist hospital, with the doctors a bit baffled by the cause and the necessary treatments. Her parents testified about how they were hanging on to faith through the circumstances, despite there not being a clear end in sight. This song was written for them to sing. Thankfully she's on the mend now and back at school, after great medical care and a bit of a miraculous recovery. It's my hope that this is a song you can sing, either because you're going through troubled times, or because you're standing alongside someone who is.

"The Gathering" was written as a response to a National Level Christian Youth Camp in 2023 called "Xtreme Camp" in Northern Thailand. Where we saw over 2000 young people from almost every province in Thailand come together to worship, seek and pray for Revival for our nation. Since then, there has been more such gatherings that have continued to impact lives in incredibles ways and therefore, our nation of Thailand.

I’ve always found it remarkable that on the night of Jesus’ arrest Peter was so afraid that he denied Jesus in the dark of night to a servant girl, and yet just a few chapters later he was standing in an open market place in the bright light of day declaring the gospel to all who would listen. This dramatic transformation can only be down to the work of the Holy Spirit. And that same spirit is at work in us today. Based on Acts 2 and the passage Peter reads from Joel, it’s a call for the same empowerment and release for us.

Many of the songs we sing about the Holy Spirit are based around how we feel, or what we want to experience. This song is about who the Holy Spirit is and what we're wanting to see the Holy Spirit do in our lives and in the wider communities we're living in. It's missional at heart, asking the Holy Spirit to fill us to empower us to go out into the world, enable us to share the love of God and draw people to Him.
A contemporary Christmas song based on Luke 2: 8-20. This is the author's first complete song, written some 50 years ago! Please report any congregational use to One License or CCLI. Written as part of the Resound Worship 12 Song Challenge to craft a ‘Community song’ – where the focus is on gathered singing rather than a complex musical arrangement. The chorus has multiple parts that can be sung by different sections of a gathered congregation to each other (and all at the same time!). The verses recognise the diversity that exists in the body of Christ and encompasses elements of the mission statement of Emmanuel Church Durham – “to be a growing, charismatic family church with a world vision”
