This song puts us in the place of looking ahead at Heaven and the joy ahead. Using the image from the parable of the prodigal son, where the father runs to his son from afar, welcoming him home. In that place there will be eternal worship. A song like this may not be seen often, and I hope that this comforts and blesses you.
Written for the ‘Refugee’ month challenge for the Resound Worship 12 Song Challenge, June 2023. The wonderful Sue Crossman from Hopestream Worship provided vocals. This song reminds us that we have all been people in need, and if we follow Jesus’ example we will treat those we see in need as he did.
Note: The chords and sheet music are in the original key of B minor, but the recording with Sue is in G# minor.

"We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure” Hebrews 6:19
This song was written as a part of Resound Worship's 12 Song Challenge on the theme of hope. Based on the passage from Hebrews, this song has the feel of an old sea shanty. It also evokes other nautical hymns such as "Will Your Anchor Hold in the Storms of Life?" Many thanks to Chris Fischer for supplying the wonderful vocals. Starting from John 1, this song explores how the Word of God was present at creation and through Jesus, is available through his Spirit to help us live for him, and will be there in judgment at the end of time.

From our recent teaching series on Hebrews, this song highlights four passages which affirm we can draw near to Jesus, our great High Priest, for help in our time of need.
In response, as a royal priesthood, we are called to bless others in his name.
