This is my first song posting and it is a collaboration with Terry Young as a co-write and friends form the Resound 12 Song Challenge as "Ebberstonia" who helped to perform the song. The song was written out of the Resound 12 Song Challenge as a "remake" of the old Rock of Ages. Whilst distinctly different it nods to the original in shape, structure and sentiment. This is a song about pressing in to God and following even when things get tough. Its a song of determination and faith based around 2 Cor 4:7-9 "7 But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. 8 We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed." and Phil 3: 12-14 "12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."
Andy Biggs, Catharine Revill, Tom Kelleher
We are rightly taught that it is only by grace that we are saved. But it can be easy to get into wrong thinking about what we can do, and feel inadequate because of what we don’t do, or don’t have the ability to so. This is a song to sing together as a congregation or in personal worship, to remind ourselves that whatever our abilities or frailties are, we can come accepted and worship Him, knowing that his grace will supply what we need as part of the body of Christ. We are all “fearfully and wonderfully made”, often with “weirdly hewn” characteristics that God designed for His glory!
Andy Biggs, Catharine Revill, Tom Kelleher
A sporting analogy song which echoes the words of 1 Tim 4:8, what training for Godliness is of more value that physical training, even though the latter has some value. Like the apostle Paul, we seek to run the race before us with endurance. Written as part of the 2024 Resound Worship 12 Song Challenge under the theme “Olympic songs”

Inspired by the words of John 10:10, this song explores aspects of the full life available to us through Jesus. Started at New Wine in 2008, it took several revisions at Resound events to arrive at the final version, performed at the first ‘Worship Songwriting Retreat WSR15’ at Wyedale Hall in June 2015.

I wrote this song as part of the 12 song challenge to write a song about God's generosity. I wanted to convey the reality from 1 chronicles 29.14 that everything we have is a gift from God and we simply return to Him what is His already. In verse 2 I also allude to God's provision of a ram as a substitute for Isaac, and our need for God to provide the perfect sacrifice of His Son for us to be in relationship with God.
