Reading the story of the Prodigal Son, I was struck by how the father hugged his son and gave him a coat, a robe. He restored his status, clothed him. Suddenly I was reminded of the soldiers who took away the robe of Jesus, God’s Son, when He was crucified. They cast lots to decide whose it would be. Jesus laid down His robe, His authority, His dignity, His status, for me to be clothed with garments of salvation and wrapped in a robe of righteousness (Isaiah 61:10). I was so amazed that I wrote this song.
This is a song about longing for and experiencing the Holy Spirit but knowing the truth that He lives inside us. John 7 v 37-39 "On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’" Jesus promised that streams of Living Water would flow from within us - Living Water flow!! Wonderfully arranged and produced by Mike Sandeman and with backing vocals from my daughter, Bekah Vickers-Patel. This song works really well with just guitar and vocal, particularly with the refrain "Living Water Flow".
Based on verses from the Holy Bible: “Whoever goes to the Lord for safety, whoever remains under the protection of the Almighty can say to Him, You are my defender and protector, You are my God; in You I trust”. (Psalm 91:1-2 GNT) “…there is nothing in all creation that will ever be able to separate us from the love of God which is ours through Christ Jesus our Lord”. (Romans 8:39 GNT)
